What we do
With the help of donors and volunteers, we fund projects run by local organisations in the areas of education, health and shelter. Thanks to this combined effort, we have already helped thousands of children, but there is so much more to do. Your donation can make all the difference. We help over 25,000 children a year
We help children at KLM destinations by financially supporting projects run by local organisations. These are projects in the fields of education, care and medical assistance. By doing so, Wings of Support aims te bring about a sustainable improvement in children’s quality of life in their own living environment.

The Healthy Teeth Foundation
The healthy Teeth Foundation focuses on improving oral hygiene for children in the slums. The foundation has implemented oral health and WASH projects in slums in Kenya and South Africa, as well as a project in the Schilderswijk in The Hague. At present, they are working on a project in Dandora, the largest landfill in East Africa, they have installed a water pump at a school and are providing health education. Wings of Support is donating 2,000 oral hygiene kits, soap, and educational materials to help improve children’s dental care in these communities.

Kigamboni Community Centre
Wings of Support has been able to support several projects at the Kigamboni Community Centre in Dar es Salaam. KCC has been active since 2007 and has helped more than 15,000 children and young people over the years. Earlies this year, KCC opened a new location with classrooms for younger children, as well as facilities for computer and sewing lessons. To transport the children to this new location, Wings of Support has contributed with a donation that enabled the purchase of a minibus.

PEVI Vida Project
The PEVI Vida project in Caju, Rio de Janeiro, focuses on children aged 7 to 11 and their families. Caju faces significant issues with drug trafficking, and education is not accesible to everyone, nor is it of good quality. Currently, the children attend the project on Tuesdays and Thursdays, where they learn about the world “outside the favela”, explore various professions and career paths, and discuss role models. Next year, they plan to expand to offer more teaching days and hire more teachers to reach more children. To achieve this, additional space is needed. Wings of Support funds the construction of a new roof, which will provide an extra 200m² of space for the project.
